Origins and Background
Formed by former members of several
well known area rock, blues, country,
and jam bands, Lightnin Bottle is an
exiciting new project in the St. Louis
music scene.  In the Spring of 2005,
five like minded fellows brought
together a considerable amount of
talent and and a boat load of BS to see
what they could come up with. After
that first impromptu, "without a net"
performance at Backstreet Blues and
Jazz, they knew they had something.
With influences and artists covered
ranging from The Allman Brothers,  The
Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The
Grateful Dead, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top,
and The Doors to Led Zeppelin,  Bob
Marley, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan,
Traffic, Widespread Panic, and the
Black Crowes and other more
contemporary acts, to more traditional
and varried blues artists such as
Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy, Albert
Collins, John Mayall, Kenny Wayne
Shephard, and more... as you can tell,
the men of Lightnin Bottle are well
rounded and well versed in a rich
heritage of blues, rock, and all things
good.  Thus, the birth of Lightnin Bottle.

What does Lightnin Bottle Mean?

Well, the phrase "catching lightning in
a bottle" was an old Delta blues term
used to describe the sound, feel, and
power of a dualing guitar attack. And
with two VERY talented lead guitarists,
Lightnin Bottle Captures and embodies
that essence.

So if it's guitar heavy, tight gritty blues
based rock you are looking for, you
have come to the right place
